Clip-In Metal Ceiling Tiles for Concealed, Flush Ceilings
Jawdah clip-in metal ceiling tiles are aluminum, galvanized steel or stainless steel panels that press onto a concealed spring-tee carrier, giving a flush ceiling with no visible grid while each tile stays demountable.
Clip-in tiles are chosen when the ceiling itself is part of the architectural expression. Jawdah Industrial Co. Ltd. forms the tile edges to grip a hidden spring tee, so from below the ceiling reads as a single monolithic soffit divided only by fine joints. When services above need attention, a tile is released with a lifter and clipped back afterwards.
The clip-in range has five products: aluminum plain and perforated, galvanized steel plain and perforated, and stainless steel plain. All are produced from 0.4 mm up to 1.0 mm thick, in standard sizes of 600x600/1200 mm and 300x300/1200 mm, with customised lengths and widths from 30 cm up to 3 m on request. Each material has its own specification table below.

Quick answer
Jawdah clip-in ceiling tiles clip onto a concealed Clip-In suspension system, so no grid is visible. They are made in aluminum (alloys 3005, 3105, 1100; perforated 3005, 3105), galvanized steel (ASTM A653M) and stainless steel (grade 201 & 304, plain only), 0.4 mm up to 1.0 mm thick. Standard sizes are 600x600/1200 mm and 300x300/1200 mm, with custom sizes from 30 cm up to 3 m. Standard and advanced suspension configurations are available.
What makes a clip-in ceiling different
In a clip-in ceiling the carrier sits entirely above the tiles. Each tile has a formed edge that snaps onto a spring tee, so the tile edges meet each other directly and the joints, not a grid, define the pattern. The result is a smooth, flush plane that suits lobbies, showrooms and other areas where a visible grid would interrupt the design.
Because clip-in tiles are held mechanically rather than resting on flanges, they can be produced in longer formats than lay-in tiles. Jawdah offers customised lengths and widths from 30 cm up to 3 m, which allows plank-like ceilings and directional layouts that follow a corridor or façade line.
How the concealed suspension holds the tile
Anchors fixed to the soffit carry hangers that support the spring tees at the required level. In the standard configuration, spring tee brackets connect the tees to rod hangers with adjustment clips. In the advanced configuration, a C-channel is hung on threaded rods with drop anchors, and the spring tees are attached to it with omega clips and C-channel clips, adding a secondary carrying level.
Tiles are pushed up until their edges engage the spring tee. At the perimeter a U-shape wall angle receives the cut edge of the last tile. To open the ceiling, a tile is pulled down with a tile lifter and the carrier stays undisturbed.
- No visible grid line from below.
- Tiles demountable for access to services.
- Standard and advanced suspension configurations.
- Same carrier accepts plain and perforated tiles of one material.
Clip-in tile faces and sizes
Plain clip-in tiles give an unperforated face for a clean architectural soffit. Perforated clip-in tiles in aluminum and galvanized steel carry full circular perforation Ø 1.8 mm as standard with acoustical black tissue on the back, so sound passes into the void rather than reflecting into the room. Perforation sizes and designs can also be customised when the client asks. Stainless steel clip-in tiles are plain.
| Material | Faces | Standard sizes | Custom sizes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Aluminum | Plain and perforated | 600x600/1200 mm; 300x300/1200 mm | Length and width from 30 cm up to 3 m |
| Galvanized steel | Plain and perforated | 600x600/1200 mm; 300x300/1200 mm | Length and width from 30 cm up to 3 m |
| Stainless steel | Plain only | 600x600/1200 mm; 300x300/1200 mm | Length and width from 30 cm up to 3 m |
Sizes are written as stated in the Jawdah product data (600*600/1200 and 300*300/1200).
Where clip-in metal tiles are used
Plain aluminum clip-in tiles are listed for hotel lobbies and reception areas, showrooms and retail fit-outs, entrance halls and corridors, bathrooms and wet areas. Plain galvanized steel clip-in tiles add kitchens, utility and service areas, and commercial or industrial interiors that require a flush, durable and easy-to-clean ceiling.
Perforated clip-in tiles are listed where a seamless ceiling and noise control are needed together: offices and meeting rooms, hospitals and clinics, schools, universities and lecture halls, airports, transport terminals and exhibition centres, auditoriums, sports halls and hotel public areas. Stainless steel clip-in tiles are listed for bathrooms, kitchens, wet areas, halls, the food and beverage industry, hospitals, shops, airports, exhibition centres and laboratories.

Stainless steel clip-in tiles — specification and stated references
Stainless steel clip-in tiles bring hygiene and corrosion resistance to a concealed ceiling. They are produced in grades 201 and 304 with a matte finish and a plain face. The Jawdah data states the ASTM product standards and a qualitative resistivity for the raw material; it gives no fire class, humidity test or reflectance value for stainless steel, so none is claimed.
For all three materials, the test values are raw-material statements. They do not rate the installed ceiling, which also depends on the suspension, the void and the services.

Standard versus advanced Clip-In suspension
Jawdah lists two system configurations for every clip-in tile. The standard system hangs the spring tees from rod hangers through spring tee brackets. The advanced system adds a C-channel level hung on threaded rods, to which the spring tees are clipped. The Clip-In suspension system itself is hot dipped galvanized iron complying with ASTM A653M, offered in standard and heavy-duty types, with raw-material references to EN ISO 6270-2 (up to 1000 hours humidity), BS 476 Part 6 – 1989, BS 476 Part 7 – 1997 Class 1 and fire reaction class A1.
| Component | Standard | Advanced |
|---|---|---|
| Spring tee (3000 mm) | Yes | Yes |
| Spring tee bracket | Yes | No |
| Spring tee joiner | Yes | Yes |
| C-channel (3000 mm) | No | Yes |
| U-shape wall angle / U-channel (3000 mm) | Yes | Yes |
| Suspension accessories | Rod hangers, adjustment clips & anchor bolts | Omega clip, C-channel clip, threaded rod Ø6 mm x 3 m, G-nut Ø6 mm, drop anchor Ø6 mm |
Suspension thickness 0.4 and 0.5 mm are stated in both sources; further thicknesses are confirmed per project.
Designing a clip-in ceiling
Set the tile direction first. Long custom tiles read as planks and emphasise one axis, so align them with the main circulation or with the façade. Then fix the spring tee spacing to the tile width, and coordinate light fittings and diffusers so they sit within a tile or between tile ends without cutting the carrier.
Choose the advanced configuration where the project needs an additional carrying level, longer spans between hangers or more adjustment for an uneven soffit; the standard configuration suits regular ceilings with straightforward hanging points. Confirm the choice with the Jawdah team against tile size and project requirements.
Installation sequence and care
Hang and level the spring tees or C-channels completely before any tile is offered up, because a clip-in ceiling shows every level error along its joints. Install perimeter U-shape wall angles at the finished ceiling level, then work tiles outward from a set-out line. Handle coated tiles with clean gloves and keep perforated tiles dry. The Jawdah installation manual is available in hard copy.
- Mark a centre line and set the first row of tiles from it.
- Check spring tee alignment with a string line before clipping tiles.
- Use a proper tile lifter for removal to avoid bending edges.
- Leave access tiles marked on the as-built plan.
Errors to avoid with clip-in tiles
Clip-in ceilings are less forgiving than lay-in ceilings because the carrier is hidden and the joints are tight. The following errors cause most site problems.
- Ordering clip-in tiles for an exposed T-grid; they need a spring tee carrier.
- Requesting perforated stainless steel clip-in tiles; stainless is plain only.
- Using the aluminum Class 0 statement for galvanized steel tiles.
- Specifying long custom tiles without checking carrier spacing.
- Mixing standard and advanced components in one ceiling zone.
Living with a clip-in ceiling
Plan access before handover: mark the tiles that give access to valves, dampers and junction boxes, and keep a lifter on site for the facility team. Clean faces with mild detergent and a soft cloth; never pry tiles down with screwdrivers, which deforms the edges and spoils the flush line. Perforated tiles should be cleaned from the face only to protect the acoustic tissue.
Clip-in compared with lay-in
Clip-in tiles give a flush, gridless ceiling and accept custom sizes up to 3 m, but access takes a lifter and the carrier is more involved. Lay-in metal ceiling tiles are quicker to open and use a simpler exposed grid. The metal ceiling tiles page shows all ten variants side by side.
Why choose Jawdah clip-in tiles
Jawdah supplies the clip-in tiles together with the spring tees, brackets, joiners, C-channels, wall angles and hanging accessories, so the hidden system is matched to the tile edge. The Aluminum, Galvanized Steel and Stainless Steel Clip-In Ceiling Tiles Technical Data Sheets, the Clip-In Suspension System Technical Data Sheet and the Metal Ceiling System Catalogue are sent on request, with installation manual and tests in hard copy.

It is a metal tile whose edges clip onto a concealed spring tee carrier, so the ceiling shows no visible grid. Tiles remain demountable with a lifter for access to services.
What sizes are Jawdah clip-in tiles?
Standard sizes are 600x600/1200 mm and 300x300/1200 mm. Customised lengths and widths from 30 cm up to 3 m are available on request for aluminum, galvanized steel and stainless steel clip-in tiles.
What is the difference between standard and advanced Clip-In systems?
The standard system uses spring tees, spring tee brackets and joiners hung on rod hangers with adjustment clips. The advanced system adds a C-channel hung on threaded rods with drop anchors, with omega clips and C-channel clips connecting the spring tees.
Are perforated clip-in tiles available?
Yes, in aluminum (alloys 3005 and 3105) and galvanized steel, with full circular perforation Ø 1.8 mm and acoustical black tissue on the back. Stainless steel clip-in tiles are plain.
What coating do aluminum clip-in tiles have?
Pre-painted polyester, 25 microns front and 5 microns back according to EN 1396; the perforated tile lists an epoxy plus polyester back coat. Powder coating of 60-80 microns and anti-bacterial paint are also available.
What is the suspension made of?
The Clip-In suspension system is hot dipped galvanized iron complying with ASTM A653M, in standard and heavy-duty types, with humidity resistance up to 1000 hours according to EN ISO 6270-2 for the raw material.
Can clip-in tiles be used in wet areas?
Yes. Plain aluminum, galvanized steel and stainless steel clip-in tiles are all listed for bathrooms and wet areas, and stainless steel is also listed for kitchens and the food and beverage industry.
What fire references apply to galvanized steel clip-in tiles?
For the raw material: fire propagation as per BS 476 Part 6 – 1989 and surface flame spread test Class 1 as per BS 476 Part 7 – 1997.
How is a clip-in tile removed?
A tile lifter pulls the tile edge free from the spring tee. The carrier stays in place, and the tile is clipped back by pushing it up until it engages.
