Accessories for Sandwich Panel Systems
Accessories are the fixings, sealants, tapes and profile closures that hold Jawdah sandwich panels to the structure and seal their laps, so the roof and wall envelope performs as one system.

01 / Overview
Quick answer
Sandwich panel accessories are the fasteners with sealing washers, stitching screws, lap sealants and tapes, and profile closures or fillers used to fix and seal panel roofs and walls. Their size and type depend on panel thickness, support steel and site exposure. Jawdah supplies accessories with its panels and confirms the item list for each project.
Overview
What counts as a panel accessory
Accessories are small items with a large effect. A fastener that is too short, a washer that hardens in the sun, or a missing closure at a rib end can let water, dust and air into an otherwise well-built panel envelope. Getting them right is mostly a matter of matching each item to the panel, the structure and the site.
Jawdah supplies accessories with its panel systems: its Saudi Aramco reference (2019–2020) records wall and roof panels supplied with accessories, and accessories are one of the listed factors in a sandwich panel quotation. Specific item types, sizes and materials are not published and are confirmed per project.
In a panel package, accessories are everything other than the panels and the formed flashings: the parts that attach panels to purlins and rails, join panels and flashings to each other, and seal the gaps between them. They are bought by count or by length, but they decide whether the envelope stays tight under wind, heat and rain.
Types
Common accessory types and their roles
The groups below are found on most panel projects. They are general categories, listed so that an RFQ can name them; the specific items Jawdah supplies are confirmed per project.
| Accessory | Role | Jawdah item data |
|---|---|---|
| Primary fasteners with sealing washers | Fix panels through to purlins or rails | Confirmed per project |
| Stitching screws | Join side laps and flashings to panels | Confirmed per project |
| Lap sealant or sealing tape | Seals side laps, end laps and flashing laps | Confirmed per project |
| Profile closures or fillers | Close rib voids at eaves, ridges and wall heads | Confirmed per project |
| Joint sealant for walls | Seals panel joints and wall edges | Confirmed per project |
Why Jawdah
Buying accessories with the panel package
Ordering accessories with the panels and the Wall Flashings and Roof Flashings keeps sizes matched to the panels actually supplied. Ask the Jawdah team to include a confirmed accessory list in the quotation.
02 / Applications
Matching accessories to panels and structure
Fastener length must suit the panel depth at the fixing point plus the steel it fixes into. Jawdah walls are published at 50, 75 and 100 mm, and roofs at 30/60, 50/80, 75/105 and 100/130 mm, so the fastener schedule changes with the thickness chosen and with whether fixings pass through a rib or a flat area. Closures must follow the actual rib shape of the Roof Sandwich Panels or wall profile in use.
Washers and sealants should tolerate high roof temperatures and UV, and fastener coatings should match the corrosion exposure, especially near the coast. Where panels are faced in aluminium or stainless steel, use fastener materials compatible with that facing.
Installation
Using accessories correctly on site
Drive fasteners square to the panel and tighten them until the washer is seated but not crushed; an over-tightened washer splits, an under-tightened one leaks. Apply lap sealant in a continuous line on clean, dry surfaces before the next panel or flashing is placed, and fit closures before cappings close over them. The Jawdah Installation Manual, available in hard copy, sets out the panel-side requirements.
Selection pitfalls
Accessory mistakes that show up later
These problems often appear months after handover, when they are harder to fix.
- Fasteners sized for one panel thickness used on another
- Washers or sealants that are not UV and heat resistant
- Fastener coating unsuited to coastal exposure
- Closures missing or not matched to the rib profile
- Accessories excluded from the BOQ and bought locally without checks

What the Jawdah data says
Two Jawdah statements cover accessories. The sandwich panel price guidance lists accessories, flashing, transportation and installation requirements among the factors that determine the quotation. The project reference for Saudi Aramco facilities (2019–2020) states that sandwich panels for walls and roofs were supplied with accessories.
Beyond that, no accessory names, sizes, materials or quantities are published; the Jawdah team confirms them from the project drawings.

Key facts

Frequently asked questions
Typically primary fasteners with sealing washers, stitching screws, lap sealants or tapes, and profile closures or fillers. The exact list depends on the panel profile and the details.
Yes. Jawdah lists accessories among its quotation factors, and its Saudi Aramco project record states panels were supplied with accessories. The item list is confirmed per project.
Long enough for the panel depth at the fixing point plus the supporting steel. It changes with panel thickness, so confirm the schedule for the thickness you order.
Roofs get very hot and receive strong UV. Washers and sealants that are not resistant harden and crack, opening paths for water and dust.
Shaped pieces that fill the rib voids at eaves, ridges and wall heads, preventing wind, rain, dust, birds and insects entering under flashings.
Yes. Listing them with quantities and types avoids mismatched local substitutes and makes the quotation comparable.
