Sandwich Panels for Roofs and Walls, Made in Saudi Arabia

Jawdah Industrial manufactures and supplies insulated sandwich panels for roofs and walls in Saudi Arabia: two metal facings with a polyisocyanurate (PIR) core, for factories, warehouses, cold rooms and commercial buildings.

Cold room wall sandwich panel joint detail showing the insulated core

A sandwich panel replaces several site layers with one factory-made element: an outer metal sheet, an insulation core and an inner metal sheet arrive bonded together, so a roof or wall is closed and insulated in one fixing operation. That is why contractors use them for industrial, commercial, agricultural and prefabricated buildings that need reliable thermal performance and a short build programme.

This page is the starting point for the whole Jawdah sandwich panel range: what the panels are made of, the roof and wall options, the thermal values Jawdah publishes for each thickness, how to choose between them, what decides the price, and what to send for a quotation.

A sandwich panel is an insulated building panel made of two metal sheets bonded to an insulation core, used for roofs, walls, façades, partitions and cold rooms. Jawdah sandwich panels use a PIR core with DIN 4102 B2 classification. Roof panels are published from 30/60 to 100/130 mm and wall panels in 50, 75 and 100 mm, with U-values down to 0.23 W/m²K on roofs and 0.23 W/m²K on walls.

A sandwich panel is a prefabricated building panel with two external metal sheets and an insulation core between them. The metal faces carry the weather and give the panel its stiffness; the core keeps heat from passing between the inside and the outside of the building. Because both are bonded in the factory, the panel combines strength, thermal insulation and low weight in a single element.

Compared with building a roof or wall from separate sheeting, insulation and lining, a sandwich panel reduces the number of site operations. Projects choose them for that reason: faster and cleaner installation, reliable insulation, and a durable envelope for large buildings such as factories, warehouses and cold rooms.

These are the facts Jawdah publishes for its sandwich panel range. Where a project needs a value that is not listed here, it is confirmed against the Technical Data Sheet for that project.

Every Jawdah panel has the same three-layer build-up: an external metal sheet, a PIR foam core and an internal metal sheet. What changes between roof and wall panels is the profile of the faces and the way neighbouring panels lock together.

Roof panels carry a high-rib external face, which stiffens the panel over the roof structure and channels rainwater. Wall panels use a U-lock or Z-lock joint, with plain or lightly ribbed faces chosen for appearance and the cladding design.

The Z-lock external face is described differently in the English and Arabic source tables, so it is confirmed for each project.

The range is organised in three groups. Wall sandwich panels cover external cladding, façades and partitions, with face and joint options for each look and use. Roof sandwich panels cover industrial and commercial roofs with a high-rib profile. Flashings and accessories finish the edges, corners and junctions of both.

Each option has its own page with the details that apply to it, so this overview stays on the choices that matter across the whole range.

The metal facings are chosen for the environment the building faces. Jawdah lists four covering materials and two coating systems, and the standard colour is Cloud White, with other colours available on request.

Pre-painted galvanised iron is the usual facing for general industrial and commercial buildings; aluminium and stainless steel are options where the environment or the use calls for them. The coating and colour are confirmed with the order.

Jawdah publishes the overall heat transfer coefficient (U-value) and thermal resistance (R-value) for each roof and wall thickness. A lower U-value means less heat passes through each square metre of roof or wall, so the thicker panel insulates better.

Roof thicknesses are written as two figures, such as 30/60 mm, because the ribbed roof profile has two depths. The 100 mm and 100/130 mm R-values are reproduced exactly as published in the Jawdah product data.

Thermal values refer to the insulation core only and exclude surface resistances and thermal bridging. Confirm the governing figures in the Technical Data Sheet for each project.

The PIR core is what gives the panel its thermal performance. Jawdah publishes the following core properties with the test method each one refers to. The fire information Jawdah publishes is the DIN 4102 B2 classification of the core material.

Start with the thermal target. In Saudi Arabia the roof takes the full force of the sun, so the roof usually carries the largest share of heat gain and is where a thicker panel pays back first. Walls follow the same logic at a smaller scale: compare the U-values above with the requirement in the project specification.

Then choose the profile and joint. Roofs use the high-rib profile; walls use a U-lock or Z-lock joint, with plain or semi-corrugated faces for the look of the building. Cold rooms and spaces with a fire requirement each have their own wall panel page, because their specifications differ.

Finally, choose the facing material, coating and colour for the environment, and list the flashings needed at edges, corners and openings so the envelope is closed as one system.

Roof and wall panels share the same PIR core and facing options. They differ in profile, joint, published thicknesses and where they sit in the building, which is also why their prices can differ.

There is no fixed public price per square metre, because every project combines a different set of specifications. Jawdah prices sandwich panels by quotation, once the panel type, thickness, quantities and delivery location are known. Roof and wall panels may be priced differently because of their profiles, loading requirements, insulation values and installation details.

For an accurate quotation, send the panel type, thickness, total quantity, project location and any drawings, bill of quantities or technical specification. Large orders are priced on the same basis, taking account of production requirements and the delivery schedule.

What is a sandwich panel?

A sandwich panel is a prefabricated building panel with two metal facings bonded to an insulation core. It is used for roofs, walls, cold rooms, façades and prefabricated buildings.

What insulation does Jawdah use in its sandwich panels?

Jawdah uses a polyisocyanurate (PIR) foam core, published with DIN 4102 B2 classification. PIR helps reduce heat transfer through roofs, walls and cold rooms.

Can the same panels be used for roofs and walls?

Jawdah makes separate roof and wall panels with the same PIR core. Roof panels have a high-rib profile; wall panels use a U-lock or Z-lock joint with plain or semi-corrugated faces. The choice depends on the design, insulation need and technical requirements.

What thicknesses are available?

Jawdah publishes roof panels at 30/60, 50/80, 75/105 and 100/130 mm, and wall panels at 50, 75 and 100 mm. The thickness is chosen from the insulation requirement and whether the panel is used on a roof or a wall.

What is the U-value of a Jawdah sandwich panel?

It depends on the thickness. Roof panels range from 0.77 W/m²K at 30/60 mm to 0.23 W/m²K at 100/130 mm; wall panels from 0.46 W/m²K at 50 mm to 0.23 W/m²K at 100 mm, as stated in the Jawdah product data.

Are sandwich panels suitable for cold rooms?

Yes. Insulated panels suit cold rooms and temperature-controlled spaces when they are selected for the project's thermal and technical requirements. Jawdah has a dedicated cold room wall panel for these spaces.

Which sandwich panel type is suitable for roofing?

Roof sandwich panels with a high-rib profile. The thickness and rib option depend on the building use, the insulation requirement, the span, weather exposure and the structural design.

How much do sandwich panels cost in Saudi Arabia?

The price depends on thickness, steel sheet and coating specification, roof or wall use, quantity, accessories, transport and the project location. Jawdah gives a project-specific quotation rather than a fixed public price.

What should I send to get a sandwich panel quotation?

Send the panel type, thickness, total quantity and project location, with any drawings, bill of quantities or technical specification. Jawdah confirms the panel, accessories and delivery from these.
